Přerov
Czechia
Přerov, a town in the Olomouc Region of Moravia, sits on the Bečva River with a well-preserved historic centre protected as an urban monument zone. The Předmostí-Skalka site within the town is one of the two most significant archaeological sites in Czechia, with mammoth bone excavations and traces of mammoth-hunter camps dating back some 26,000–27,000 years — earning the town the informal title "city of mammoths." Přerov also has historical associations with the scholar Jan Blahoslav and educator Jan Amos Comenius.
