Mountain village in Abruzzo and the main base for the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, Pescasseroli draws visitors year-round as both a summer and winter resort. The philosopher Benedetto Croce was born here in 1866. For its size, the village has a solid spread of cafés and restaurants, and the surrounding peaks offer strong photographic appeal.
