This modest heritage town in the Jura department of eastern France, Orgelet holds a "Site patrimonial remarquable" designation and has carried the Cité de Caractère label since 1998. The church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption spans the 13th to 17th centuries, and the surrounding area offers scenic viewpoints and proximity to water. UNESCO World Heritage sites lie within reach in the wider region.
