Home to La Campana National Park, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, and the Festival del Huaso de Olmué — a televised folk-music competition drawing national and international artists each year — this Chilean town in the Valparaíso Region built its economy around natural landscapes, campgrounds, and countryside activities. Created in 1893 on land from the former Hacienda de Gulmué, it sits between Santiago and Valparaíso, with scenic surrounds and a compact centre of cafés and restaurants.
