Namwon
South Korea
Known as "the City of Love" for the celebrated Korean folk story of Chunhyang, Namwon is a city in North Jeolla Province, South Korea, sitting at the edge of Jirisan National Park — home to the largest mountain range on the South Korean mainland — and bordered by the Seomjin River. Gwanghanlu Garden serves as a shrine to the Chunhyang story, and each May the Chunhyang Festival draws traditional cultural performances to the area around it.
