Montefrío
Granada · Spain
Named by National Geographic as one of the ten best views in the world, this tiny Andalusian town in Granada's northern hills earns that recognition through a dramatic skyline anchored by a Moorish castle ruin and Spain's only round church — said to have been converted from a mosque. Nearby, the archaeological site of Las Peñas de los Gitanos holds prehistoric tombs alongside Roman and Visigothic remains. The town was designated a national historic-artistic site in 1982.
