Militello in Val di Catania

Catania · Italy

One of eight Sicilian towns granted UNESCO World Heritage status in 2002 for their late Baroque architecture, Militello in Val di Catania sits on the lower slopes of the Hyblaean Mountains in the Metropolitan City of Catania. The town holds an unusual concentration of churches for its size, has been named among Italy's most beautiful villages, and was proclaimed "borgo dei borghi" — village of villages — for 2025. A railway line connects it to Catania and Caltagirone.
