Loughrea
Ireland
This modest market town in County Galway sitting directly on Lough Rea, the grey-speckled lake from which it takes its name, with a café and restaurant scene in its compact centre. St Brendan's Cathedral dominates the skyline, and the Slieve Aughty Mountains rise to the south. Though it functions as a commuter town for Galway city, Loughrea retains its own character as one of the county's larger towns.
