Cloghjordan

A north Tipperary village close to the River Shannon — Ireland's longest river — and Lough Derg, Cloghjordan sits roughly equidistant from Nenagh, Roscrea, and Birr near the Offaly border. It is the birthplace of Thomas MacDonagh, poet and leader of the 1916 Easter Rising, who described it as a place "in calm of middle country."
