Lidingoe

Sweden

This island town in the inner Stockholm archipelago, Lidingö is known for the Millesgården sculpture museum, a long coastline with scenic water views, and the annual cross-country race Lidingöloppet. The walkable centre has a good spread of cafés and restaurants, and the island has long attracted wealthy residents — among them all four members of ABBA. Stockholm is close by, and several UNESCO World Heritage sites lie within the wider region.
