L'Orignal
Canada
A small Franco-Ontarian village on the Ottawa River in eastern Ontario, L'Orignal takes its name from Pointe à l'Orignal — "Moose Point" in French — the spot where moose once crossed the river. The site was one of the seigneuries of New France, and the village sits within sight of the Quebec mountains across the water.
