A mountain town on the Neretva River in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Konjic sits between Sarajevo and Mostar in a heavily wooded highland valley, with a compact centre of cafés and restaurants and scenic viewpoints in the surrounding terrain. One of the oldest permanent settlements in the country, with roots going back nearly 4,000 years, it took its current form in the late 14th century.
