Knittelfeld
Austria
A small Styrian town on the Mur river with a café and restaurant scene that is unusually rich for its size, Knittelfeld also carries a place in Austrian political history as the site of the September 2002 Freedom Party meeting — the Knittelfeld Putsch — that triggered early national elections. The town sits close to the mountains of Styria, with UNESCO World Heritage sites accessible in the wider region.
