Kilcoole
Ireland
This pocket-sized coastal town in County Wicklow, Kilcoole sits beside a stretch of marshland — the Murragh — that runs south along the shore toward Wicklow town and shelters several endangered plant and animal species. The nearby beach is one of the few places in Ireland where little terns nest in summer. The town also served as a filming location for the long-running Irish television series Glenroe during the 1980s and 1990s.
