Kandava

Small town in eastern Courland, Latvia, where the Abava River begins a water-tourism route through the ancient Abava valley. Kandava serves as a local tourism centre, with the Čužu bog nature reserve within the town and scenic viewpoints across the surrounding valley. The main industry is timber processing. It lies within Tukums Municipality, a short drive from Tukums and roughly an hour from Riga.
