A coastal town on the Øresund, a short drive north of Copenhagen, Hørsholm has a walkable centre with cafés and restaurants close to the water's edge. The town developed around Hirschholm Palace, built in the 1730s, and has since grown to absorb several older neighbouring communities along this stretch of the North Zealand coast.
