Grigiškės
Lithuania
This tiny Lithuanian town west of Vilnius sits on both banks of the Vokė river, whose widening at the town centre forms a pond. A paper and wood-industry company, founded here in 1923, ranks among the largest of its kind in the Baltic states. The town also holds a protected technical monument in its aqueduct and a hydroelectric station on the Vokė. Grigiškės is notable as the only town in Lithuania that belongs to another city's municipality — that of Vilnius.
