Gornji Milanovac

Serbia

A central Serbian town on the Despotovica River, with a walkable centre well supplied with cafés and restaurants. Founded in 1853 under the name Despotovica, it was renamed in 1859 on the order of Prince Miloš Obrenović, after his half-brother Duke Milan. The surrounding Takovo microregion takes in the southern foothills of Rudnik mountain and the northern foothills of Suvobor and Maljen.
