Gaillac
Tarn · France
Gaillac wine has given this small Tarn town its identity for centuries, with vineyards spreading across the surrounding countryside and the River Tarn running through the historic centre. The old town, built in pink brick and nicknamed "La Rose du Midi," grew around the Abbey of Saint-Michel and a river port that once exported wine and woad across the region. Today the town has a café and restaurant scene that punches above its size.
