The remains of Ferns Castle stand at the centre of this compact historic village in north County Wexford, which also served as the founding seat of the Diocese of Ferns. A Church of Ireland cathedral remains in the village, though the Catholic cathedral is now in Enniscorthy and the bishop's palace in Wexford town.
