Thomastown
Ireland
A tiny market town on the River Nore in County Kilkenny, Thomastown has a good spread of cafés and restaurants for its size and several historic churches. Nearby attractions include Jerpoint Abbey, the gardens and waterfall at Kilfane Glen, and the Mount Juliet golf course. The town traces its name to a 13th-century Norman settler, Thomas FitzAnthony, and has developed a reputation as a craft centre, with the Grennan Craft School on its outskirts.
