One of only two European World Surfing Reserves, Ericeira is a modest seaside town on Portugal's western coast, a short drive northwest of Lisbon, widely regarded as the surfing capital of Europe. Dozens of beaches with strong surf conditions line the surrounding coastline. The town itself is well supplied with cafés and restaurants for its size, and the waterfront setting offers scenic viewpoints and strong photographic appeal.
