Domrémy-la-Pucelle
Vosges · France
Domrémy-la-Pucelle, a small hamlet in the Vosges department of northeastern France, is the birthplace of Joan of Arc — a fact so central to its identity that the village renamed itself after her nickname, la Pucelle d'Orléans ("the Maid of Orléans"). The original settlement was known simply as Domrémy and was historically linked to the neighbouring village of Greux.
