Daugailiai

Lithuania

This compact Lithuanian hamlet in Utena County is home to a two-towered wooden Baroque church of St. Anthony of Padua, built in 1883, and a triangular central square typical of a traditional street-plan village. A monument marking twenty years of Lithuanian independence, damaged in 1940 and restored in 1989, stands in the settlement, alongside an old post station. Lake Indrajai lies at the hamlet's northwestern edge.
