Cobquecura

Cobquecura · Chile

A small Pacific coast town in Chile's Ñuble region, Cobquecura sits on the shore of the ocean roughly southwest of Santiago, with a compact central core of cafés and restaurants. Its name derives from the Mapuche word for "bread stone." Since the 2020s, the commune has also been the site of a rare-earth elements mining project.
