Dichato
Tomé · Chile
Compact bay town on the Chilean coast in the Biobío Region, Dichato draws summer visitors to its calm, cold waters for water sports and a seafood restaurant scene concentrated in its compact centre. Artisanal fishing keeps the town active year-round. The 2010 earthquake and tsunami caused severe destruction across the lower town, and Dichato has since rebuilt — a history that shapes its present character.
