Cetinje

Montenegro

Montenegro's former royal capital, Cetinje sits on a small karst plain beneath Mount Lovćen and has been called a "city-museum" for its concentration of historic buildings, monasteries, churches, and museums. Founded in the 15th century, it served as the cultural cradle of Montenegro and retains the official residence of the country's president. The walkable centre has a real café and restaurant scene, and the surrounding limestone mountains offer scenic viewpoints above the town.
