Viseu
Viseu Dão Lafões · Portugal
City in central Portugal with a dense café and restaurant scene, many historic churches, and a position in the heart of Dão wine country. Viseu's centre holds the Grão Vasco Museum, a nationally acclaimed art collection, and the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Viseu. The territory has been settled since the early Iberian Castro culture, and the city is considered one of several probable birthplaces of Afonso Henriques, the first King of Portugal.
