Blonduos
Iceland
A small village on Iceland's Ring Road where the glacial river Blanda meets the sea, Blönduós sits in a natural hollow between steep riverbanks. Just off the main road, a pedestrian bridge leads to Hrútey, a small island and nature reserve encircled by the river. The village is part of the Húnabyggð municipality, formed in 2022, and sits within reach of the mountains of northern Iceland.
