Sitting on the Ardèche river in southern France's Gard department, this modest village has been a member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France since 2005 — the first in Gard to earn the designation. The surrounding area includes the Gorges de l'Ardèche nature reserve and two Natura 2000 protected zones, and the village itself holds several listed historic buildings, among them a Renaissance house and a structure known as the grenier-des-Évêques.
