At the foot of Mount Etna, where the Simeto and Salso rivers meet, Adrano is a Sicilian town with a compact centre dense with historic churches, cafés, and restaurants. Known since ancient times as Adranon, it served as the seat of a feudal county from the 14th to the 19th century and was formally granted city status in 2019. The surrounding area produces olives and citrus fruit, and the slopes of Etna offer scenic viewpoints within easy reach.
