Zumarraga, an island municipality in Samar province in the Philippines, is known for its heritage-dense downtown, where conservation efforts are preserving a concentration of historic houses recognised by heritage scholars as a heritage zone. The town is also associated with two local alcoholic drinks: kinutil, a coconut wine mixed with egg yolk, and dubado, coconut wine blended with melted tablea. Formerly known by the names Buad, Rawis, and Kawayan, it sits within reach of the water on an island setting.
