Zhuji

China

Known across China as the "hometown of pearls," Zhuji is a city in Zhejiang province that has long been a major freshwater pearl producer. It also carries historical weight as the ancient capital of the Yue Kingdom and the legendary birthplace of Xi Shi, one of China's celebrated classical beauties, with a temple dedicated to her still standing in the city. Scenic viewpoints surround the area, and the city sits along the water with mountains visible in the distance.
