Zeghanghane
Province de Nador · Morocco
This town in the Rif mountains of northeastern Morocco, Zeghanghane sits in highland terrain close to Nador and serves as an urban hub for the surrounding rural communities. The spring of Iskaja, which feeds small-scale agriculture to the north of the town, draws visitors from across the province. The town also has a history of resistance against Spanish colonial rule, led in part by the fighter Mohamed Ameziane, who died in 1912 after more than a hundred engagements.
