A tiny island village in Okinawa's Kerama Islands, Zamami sits on the water with mountain terrain rising behind it and an unusually dense café and restaurant scene for its size. Designated part of Kerama Islands National Park in 2014, it also holds a two-star rating in the Michelin Green Guide Japan and Ramsar Convention status as a wetland of international importance, recognising the ecological value of its surrounding waters.
