Xylokastro

Κορινθία · Greece

Modest seaside town on the Gulf of Corinth in the Peloponnese, Xylokastro draws weekend visitors from Athens with a long white-pebbled beach, a marina, and a pine forest at Pefkia. Cafés and restaurants fill its compact centre, and vineyards spread through the surrounding area. Scattered early churches and traces of older settlements add some historical texture to what is primarily a coastal retreat.
