Xikou
China
Xikou, a town in Zhejiang province west of Ningbo, is the birthplace and ancestral home of Chiang Kai-shek, former President of the Republic of China, and of his son Chiang Ching-kuo, who also served as ROC President. The town sits on the Shan River against a mountain backdrop, and was designated among China's first nationally recognised scenic tourism towns in 2010. Mao Fumei, mother of Chiang Ching-kuo, was killed here during a Japanese bombing raid in December 1939.
