Wookey
TLK62 · United Kingdom
This Somerset village on the River Axe, just west of Wells, Wookey is often confused with its better-known neighbour Wookey Hole, home to the famous caves. The parish, which includes Henton and the hamlets of Yarley and Bleadney, has a quiet riverside character; Bleadney once held a river port in the 8th century that brought goods to within a short distance of Wells. Several UNESCO World Heritage sites lie in the wider region.
