Weilburg
Limburg-Weilburg · Germany
A photogenic pocket-sized town in Hesse set on the Lahn river between the Westerwald and Taunus uplands, Weilburg was for centuries the residence of the Nassau-Weilburg dynasty — ancestors of the present grand-ducal house of Luxembourg. The dynasty's palace, with its adjoining parkland, still defines the town's skyline, and the palace church holds the burial vault of several members of the ruling family. The town also holds official recognition as a health resort (Luftkurort), with a café and restaurant scene that outpaces the town's size.
