This pocket-sized waterfront village on the northern edge of the Reykjanes Peninsula in southwest Iceland, Vogar sits close to mountains and houses an unusual atmospheric gas extraction plant whose oxygen output serves as Iceland's sole locally produced supply for healthcare. The town also runs a fish roe incubation centre for Atlantic salmon.
