Venado Tuerto
General López · Argentina
Founded on 26 April 1884 in the south-west of Santa Fe province, Venado Tuerto is known as the birthplace of the "Marcha San Lorenzo," the Argentine military march composed here by Uruguayan musician Cayetano Alberto Silva — a legacy commemorated in the regional museum that bears his name. The city's walkable centre holds a concentration of cafés, restaurants, and historic churches, and the town sits at the intersection of two national highways, making it a regional hub for the surrounding agricultural heartland.
