Vatra
Moldova
A compact satellite town just outside Chișinău, Vatra sits beside the artificial Lake Ghidighici — built along the Bâc river floodplain in the 1960s and 1970s — which provides recreational space along its shores. The town is served by the national R1 (E58) route connecting the capital to Moldova's western districts, and a protected natural area, the Cazacu quarry, lies north of the local railway station. The Vatra stone quarry and marble-processing enterprises operate here alongside beverage assembly and storage facilities.
