This small town in south-eastern Poland's Bieszczady mountains, sitting on the Strwiąż river and serving as the gateway hub for the Bieszczady loop routes, with a café and restaurant scene that punches above its size. Granted a city charter around 1727, Ustrzyki Dolne has roots going back to the 15th century and a history that includes periods under Habsburg rule and a postwar transfer from the USSR to Poland in 1951. UNESCO World Heritage sites lie within the wider region.
