Twillingate
Twillingate · Canada
Sitting on the Twillingate Islands in Notre Dame Bay off northeastern Newfoundland, this tiny Canadian town is one of the island's oldest ports and a historic fishing community whose economy has shifted toward tourism since the collapse of the cod industry. The islands offer a sheltered harbour and access to nearby fishing grounds, and the town incorporates several smaller surrounding communities. A causeway connects Twillingate Island to mainland Newfoundland.
