A small inland Dalmatian town on the Cetina River, northeast of Split, with an unusually lively café and restaurant scene for its size and vineyards in the surrounding hills. Trilj sits in mountain terrain on a site with deep Roman roots: the legionary camp of Tilurium once occupied the hill above, and the ancient stone bridge Pons Tilurium crossed the Cetina here, at a crossroads of roads linking Salona, Narona, and Bosnia.
