Nicknamed both "City of the Hazelnut" and "City of the Bells," Tortorici is a little Sicilian town in the Nebrodi regional park, between Palermo and Messina, where hazelnut groves spread across dozens of outlying hamlets. The surrounding park landscape and mountain backdrop give the town a strong visual character, and some listed heritage architecture survives in the area.
