Tenedos
Canakkale · Türkiye
Famous for its grapes and wines since antiquity, Bozcaada — also known by its Greek name Tenedos — is a modest Aegean island off the Turkish coast with vineyards, a lively café and restaurant scene, and several historic churches for its size. The island appears in both the Iliad and the Aeneid, and its strategic position at the entrance to the Dardanelles drew successive rulers from the Persian Empire through Venice and the Ottomans. The wider region includes UNESCO World Heritage sites.
