This compact Sardinian town in the Gallura region with an unusually dense café and restaurant scene and a concentration of churches for its size, Tempio Pausania sits at the foot of Monte Limbara in northern Sardinia. Co-capital of the province of Gallura alongside Olbia, it holds a Catholic bishopric and is listed among I Borghi più belli d'Italia — Italy's register of its most beautiful villages.
