This little harbour town on Ammassalik Island sits on the water amid high mountains in southeastern Greenland, making it the main settlement on the country's eastern coast. The nearby Sermilik Station conducts research on the Mittivakkat Glacier. Formerly known as Ammassalik or Angmagssalik, and in Danish as Kong Oscars Havn, the town has a Wikivoyage entry reflecting its draw for independent travellers reaching Greenland's remote east.
