Tarabuco, a tiny town in Bolivia's Chuquisaca department a short drive from Sucre, draws visitors to its Sunday open-air market, where members of the Yampara indigenous community trade handicrafts and traditional textiles while many wear distinctive regional costumes that signal their specific place of origin. Each March, the Pujllay festival fills the town with processions, traditional dress, and chicha. The Yampara culture's deep tradition in festival clothing and crafts is documented further at the Museo de Arte Indígena ASUR in Sucre.
